The resurrection of Jesus is not simply an event that took place, it was experienced. Jesus is the central figure, it was after all his resurrection, but this event was experienced by real people.
Don't let this Easter to come and go and it simply be an acknowledgement of a historical event and miss out on the experience of death's defeat, of life's triumph, and old things passing away and all things becoming new.
